Dear Colleagues,

As you all are aware, SJVN is now listed Company with the shareholder base spread all over the country. The Government of India has divested 10.3% of its equity holding in the Company with the offer of 41.5 crore equity shares. The Initial Public Offer of the Company received an overwhelming response of over 6.6 times. While the portion of Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) was subscribed over 9 times, it was a matter of great satisfaction that the quota for retailers was also subscribed by over three times.

The Company's shares were listed at the Mumbai Stock Exchanges viz. NSE and BSE, on 20th May, 2010. The status of the Company and its working will now undergo a sea change. The activities of the Company will also be under watchful eye and scrutiny of the investors spread all over the country. I will therefore call upon all of you to improve your working responsibly and transparently.

I would also like to share with you that your Company has entered into a tripartite agreement with the Govt. of Manipur and NHPC Limited, for the execution of 1500 MW Tipaimukh Hydro-electric Project in Manipur. The agreement was signed on 28th April, 2010 at New Delhi. SJVN will have an equity participation of 26% in the Project.

Dear colleagues, now many of you are also shareholders in this Company and you would now be working for your own Company more efficiently to improve its productivity. With 10 projects in hand for execution in various stages of implementations, your support will be all the more desirable in taking the Company to greater heights.
