SJVN has diversified into Solar Power generation with commissioning of its first project in Charanka Solar Park, Gujarat on 31.03.2017. As on date, 8 Solar projects with total installed capacity of 396.91 MW are under operation.

SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) was incorporated on March 30, 2022, as a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Established pursuant to the approval of DIPAM and NITI Aayog, SGEL serves as the dedicated renewable energy arm of the SJVN Group.

SGEL is entrusted with the end-to-end development, execution, and operation of renewable energy projects, encompassing solar, wind, hybrid, and energy storage solutions. The company is focused on accelerating India’s transition towards a sustainable and low-carbon energy future.

Aligned with the national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, SGEL is committed to rapid capacity addition, efficient project execution, and adoption of advanced technologies across its portfolio.

A key milestone in SGEL’s journey is the successful commissioning of the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. The project further achieved a significant landmark by generating one billion units of clean energy in March 2026, reinforcing SGEL’s growing contribution to the nation’s renewable energy capacity.

SGEL’s current portfolio comprises 1,460 MW of operational projects, 873 MW under construction, and 1,500 MW under pre-construction.
