Power Trading
SJVN has been granted a Category-I Inter-State Trading Licence by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) for trading of electricity across India, vide Order dated 10 January 2022.
SJVN is registered on the DEEP (Discovery of Efficient Electricity Price) e-bidding portal and holds Trader Membership of the three major power exchanges—Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL), and Hindustan Power Exchange (HPX).
With an established Power Trading Desk, SJVN offers short-, medium- and long-term power trading solutions to meet the evolving requirements of electricity buyers and sellers. SJVN aims to facilitate efficient power trading through a Pan-India network of buyers and sellers, helping bridge regional and seasonal variations in electricity demand and supply.
To enhance efficiency and streamline its trading operations, SJVN has developed ISET (Integrated Solution for Energy Trading), a customised power trading software developed in association with PwC. The platform is designed to automate and integrate key activities across the power trading value chain.
All power trading operations are coordinated through SJVN’s New Delhi office.
